Jim Gaudet and The Railroad BoysJim Gaudet and the Railroad Boys are bringing Jim's original songs and arrangements to the Rosendale Cafe. They best describe their music as "Hillbilly Rock and Roll". The RR Boys will be performing Gaudet's originals from their recently released fifth CD, "When It Rains". His songs have been called "hard-driving", "a folk-country fusion", and "hybrid folk/bluegrass" with an "energetic front-porch feel".

Gaudet is anchoring his deft wordplay and savvy song craft in the classic Americana Roots style.

"It's a unique, driving tempo, firmly-based in the acoustic music tradition. Gaudet's own guitar work is now more fiery than ever, characterized by forceful, percussive rhythms that lack for easy comparison", wrote Michael Eck in the Albany Times-Union.

Gaudet is also known for winning audiences with his witty, unassuming stage presence, and his mix of candor and comedy. Together, he, his band mates, and the audience create one big "down home" family feel. The band supports Gaudet's songwriting and arrangements with just the right amount of gusto and drive. The group consists of Bobby Ristau on upright bass and backing vocals, Sten Isachsen on mandolin and backing vocals, and either special guests Sara Milonovich or Tucker Callander on fiddle and backing vocals.

"So, in truth, we came to your show at Godfrey Daniels in Bethlehem, PA because our friends make up the 'Last Small Town' (the opening band). I was not familiar with you or your band at all, and was just blown away. Your arrangements, your musicality, and your smiley bass player left a huge impression on me and my husband Dave. We play in our own band and some of the things we heard you do were so inspiring. I feel like your show was 70% enjoyment and 30% school (maybe the other way around), so thank you so much for that. I just wanted you guys to know how much we love what you guys are doing!" --Kelly Planer, Musician, Photographer
